Excess sebum, skin impurities and co.: how to treat oily skin specifically

Oily, greasy skin tends to enlarge and clog pores and blackheads due to excess sebum production, and in some people it also leads to inflammation of the face. The oily sheen and impurities, such as undercoating and irritation, are well managed by a combination of skincare products - which absorb sebum and clear pores. At Dermalogica, we avoid drying, denatured alcohol, which often exacerbates the problem of oily skin. Instead, we use botanical extracts as well as clay and activated charcoal to reduce excessive sebum production without attacking the skin barrier.
